AWS Class ER316/316L SAW wires and flux are designed for superior corrosion resistance and strength in stainless steel welding. Chemically, ER316 contains 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, with ER316L having lower carbon (<0.03%) to minimize sensitization. Mechanically, these consumables provide excellent tensile strength (≥580 MPa) and yield strength (≥290 MPa) with good elongation (≥35%), ensuring ductile, crack-resistant welds. The matching flux promotes stable arc, smooth bead appearance, and low spatter, making this combination ideal for critical applications in chemical, marine, and high-temperature environments where durability and corrosion resistance are essential.
